Young Earth Catastrophism:  In Advanced Idea Mechanics, in accord

with its postulation of Banishment Catastrophism, is the idea that between

Genesis 1:1 and 1:2, there is a “modified” “Gap” Theory:  there was

indeed a period of time between these two passages—indicated by the

intervening destruction of creation—but it is not as the Gap Theory

normally indicates.  We believe that the period of time was approximately

6,000 years—and that the energies and ambient violence to creation

caused a “premature aging” in creation:  in other words, the geology,

cosmology, and other factors reflect billions of years of age, but in fact

only 6,000 years passed.  This information is in concert with many studies

that indicate that antiquarian civilizations—the age of the Sphinx, for

example—originated approximately 12,000 years ago.  This rectifies the

12,000 year approximation, the actual age in biblical terms of thousands

of years and not billions, and accounts for the appearance of the great age
