QUESTION: What exactly is PARRC?
ANSWER: PARRC stands for the Prophecy And Apologetics Research And Resource Center. It is exactly what it says, and was founded initially as the Voice In The Wilderness Ministries, then PARC, and finally the way it is today.
QUESTION: What is PARRC NOT, then?
ANSWER: 1) PARRC is not a cult; 1) PARRC is not trying to inculcate a following for any other purpose than bringing souls to Christ; 3) PARRC has not, and does not, solicit for money (except in rare cases where long-time friends of the ministry may want to give as their hearts determine); 4) PARRC is not trying to wean people from their churches; 5) PARRC is not determining new doctrine, or teaching philosophies that are not EXACTLY Bible-based; 6) PARRC’s research is not counter-culture, counter-religious, or counter-government.
QUESTION: What exactly does PARRC do?
ANSWER: PARRC investigates reasons to believe for those who are not presently Christian; ways to be stronger in your faith, walk, and service if you are presently Christian; and addresses the Lord Jesus’ command in the Great Commission.
From a standpoint of supplementary and complementary knowledge, PARRC strives to ADD TO the existing body of reasons to believe; investigate new areas from which to cull new perspectives on Christian belief (evidentiary science); and look further into areas of apologetic study to refine or add to facts already determined.
PARRC is 1) an aid to individual Christians in their walk, 2) an aid to churches and other ministries as they mine the existing well of knowledge for “food” for their flocks,
3) to help those who would learn more about Christianity, 4) to help take the Word of our Lord to the whole world (instructing them and creating new vessels of faith that will further carry on the Word), 4) to amplify, clarify, supplement, complement, and add understanding to the great words and scriptures of the Bible which founds our faith, 5) to add to the great mass of apologetic and evidentiary science (reasons to believe), 6) to prepare others to mount a strong defense of the faith and handle the dictates of the Great Commission, 7) to design and implement study and learning mechanisms as an aid to the collection and clarification of Christian information, thought, and ideas, and 8) to defend the faith against those who would attack Christianity and the tenets of the fundamental beliefs of the Bible that we found all of our efforts and faith.
QUESTION: What exactly does PARRC NOT do?
ANSWER: 1) PARRC does not determine or alter doctrine; 2) PARRC investigates ways to clearly understand what the founding fathers of the faith were rendering to us; 3) PARRC does not change one word of the Bible, wither in adding to or taking away from; 4) PARRC does not testify against the faith; 5) PARRC does not attempt to replace churches, ministers, or others who strive for the faith with regard to their membership or supporters; 6) PARRC does not set itself up as the “final word” expert on matters Christian.
QUESTION: How does PARRC conduct its investigations?
ANSWER: 1) Through the use of the study of the Bible itself; 2) the extensive library at PARRC Research; 3) the dozens of essays, white paper investigations, and studies conducted over the decades by PARRC itself; 4) the judicious use of the Internet; 5) other ministries; 6) PARRC-generated and designed learning “mechanisms” which guide and amplify our efforts at understanding; and 7) through the utilization of a philosophy which requires us to be both fundamental in belief, and soldiers for the faith in our loyalty to Christ, and only Him.
QUESTION: How does PARRC go out to the world?
ANSWER: At the present time, through the Living Word Bible Study, newsletters (past and future), the website (www.parrc.org), and our interactions with other Christians and Christian organizations.
QUESTION: In one sentence, what makes PARRC unique:
ANSWER: “PARRC strives to go to the world with a strong witness as both a supplementary/complementary work to existing achievements, and to other disciplines (science, philosophy, etc.) as a ministry capable of meeting them where they are with the same understandings, alacrity, and perspectives—while maintaining our perspectives as wholly Christian and bringing Jesus into their worlds.”
QUESTION: How is PARRC funded?
ANSWER: PARRC is not funded; at the present time, the only revenues we see are through the kindness of friends of the ministry.
QUESTION: Does PARRC have a building and location, and where?
ANSWER: PARRC has not progressed at the present time to have a building and the other accoutrements that will undoubtedly be required of us to be effective in the long run; however, the ministry is located in Florissant, Missouri.
QUESTION: What are the most traditional things that PARRC does? What makes it most like other ministries?
ANSWER: 1) In its fundamental basis; 2) in its zeal for Christ; 3) in its desire to address the Great Commission; 4) in its love for the Bible, and the scriptures within;
5) in its desire to provide a strong witness for the world.
QUESTION: What are the most non-traditional things that PARRC does? What makes it most unlike most other ministries?
ANSWER: 1) In its view of the Bible: “from a height,” as a multi-dimensional book which renders truth to all observers, times, and cultures; 2) in it’s approach to the work that it strives to accomplish—as a supplemental/complementary adjunct to existing works of apologetic and evidentiary belief models; 3) in its desire to represent Christianity to science, philosophy, and other traditional academic venues with “indigenation—“ the quality that makes the observer see the ministry as more than just a Christian work—but as an addressor of things from within their purview but from a Christian perspective; 4) as one of a few Christian ministries that addresses with scientific empiricism and experimental clarity issues that most would not believe a Christian ministry would impact; 5) and to create internal venues of mechanism and understanding that serve as directors, auditors, and implementers of ideas for Christian edification that require new scales of physical scientific understanding—but are, after all, from God!
