MERE ANTHROPOLOGY

This is very similar to Mere Religion...

CHURCHIANITY.

An interesting and totally descriptive term, describing adequately

an activity which quite often takes the place of Christianity.

Churchianity brings you to church, all right:  to see your friends,

to wear your clothes, to flirt, to nap, because you were made to

come, because your family is going, etc., etc....

Churchianity has very little to do with Christianity, except on the

surface; underneath lies emptiness.

Most people who practice Churchianity cannot recite the 23 Psalm;

cannot name five disciples; don't know which sea Moses parted.

They also--and most destructively--don't know that they, one day,

must get serious--and come to Christ on their knees.

Churchianity feels good; it fills a void sometimes.

It just does not reliably either represent Christ, nor bring you to Him.

And that is the whole point of church.

Mere churchianity:  it's time to start listening to that still, small voice...
