This is not so different from Mere Seemliness--or worldliness.
Have you ever seen a person "curse like a sailor?"
Have you ever wondered why they do it? Habit? Mimicking
others? Anger?
Have you ever wondered where profanity came from? Not curses--
but actual profanity. Profane sayings said needlessly.
Have you ever wondered why those five or six words are universal?
It's easy: the adversary has provided us with a way to not only
undermine our own seemliness and walk, but to present ourselves
to God as profane vessels.
And He loves us anyway.
Check it out: profanity is one of those things that is needlessly done,
and can be stopped RIGHT NOW.
It is unseemly, worldly, illogical, disrespectful nonsense.
If you respect yourself, and others about you--give it up.
It is another aspect of our humanity that does not make sense.
Mere profanity: it's time to start listening to that still, small voice...
