This is not so different from Mere Seemliness.
Being, or appearing worldly, as a Christian is misrepresentative.
It gives the world at large the wrong picture.
However--beyond that scenario--it must be asked:
Why would a Christian remain worldly? What is worldliness?
A worldly Christian NEVER has a testimony to the world.
A worldly Christian does not want others to know they are Christian.
A worldly Christian is so swayed by the kingdoms of this world, that
they do not even appear to be who they are.
Materialism, paganism, hedonism--all these things can be the earmark
of the worldly, or backslidden Christian.
We must fight.
Those same people that you are worldy with need your testimony.
They don't need you to talk like them; they need your example of how
to speak with dignity (not boring or square--but as the gentleman or
lady that you are).
They don't need you to dress like them; they need your example of how
to dress with dignity (not boring, but seemly as what you are).
They don't need you to BE like them--they only think they do.
What they need is for you to be the person Christ made you to be--so
that they can then see the light, and want to be like you--and hence, Him.
Mere worldliness: it's time to start listening to that still, small voice...
[work in progress]
