THE ENLIGHTENED MIND
In the “age of enlightenment,” thinkers came to the conclusion that people should depend less on the dictates and strictures of religious thought and more on enjoying their lives while they could.
It was not a rejection of religion outright, just a modification: if men like Newton could show us—scientifically—how gravitation affected the universe, then certainly we should become less bound by a God who could be described by mathematical equations.
In the mind of Evidentiary Science and Theoheurism, this is not actually enlightenment at all: it gives rise to the question: which period in history was REALLY the “Dark Ages?”
The truly enlightened mind does not minimize religion—let alone Christianity—based upon the precepts of science. The enlightened mind realizes that true understanding—from a “height—” comes from the proper amalgamation of science and Christianity, and not the dissolution of the valence bonds that make creation what it is. In the age of enlightenment, science began to replace religion—and that was a grave mistake.
In a popular movie from the late 1970’s, Superman, the antagonist—Lex Luthor, a genius in his own right—made a curious statement (I paraphrase): “The enlightened mind can read the back of a gum wrapper and unlock the secrets of the universe.”
This seemed like a strange thing to say—but his point ultimately was that if we encourage and pursue true enlightenment, then the world and its machinations will appear much clearer and easier to understand—from a “height.”
The most enlightened mind of all time was Jesus Christ. It was exhibited time and time again in the way he dealt with things: with organized religion (the Pharisees), with sin (in His anxiousness to forgive, not condemn), and in His decision to take up the task of dying on the cross—a decision He finalized in Gethsemane.
The enlightened mind is:
· aware it needs enlightenment
· aware of its’ sinful nature—therefore…
· ...desirous of salvation, and...
· ...provide proper witness, and...
· ...be an emissary;
· in pursuit of truth;
· embracing things Jesus taught;
· wanting the mind of Christ;
· desiring the heart of the Spirit;
· seeking the presence of God;
· repentant of transgressions;
· rejecting sinful practice;
· mournful of unrighteousness;
· Understanding of humanity
· excited about witness;
· faithful to friends and family;
· honest with itself;
· seeking the light;
· rejecting the darkness;
· a soldier for the faith;
· a friend to the lost
· moderate
· angered by opposition to Christ;
· ready to mount a defense of the faith;
· unafraid in the face of the adversary
· steadfast to friends and family
· mindful of justice
· obedient to Him
· arrayed in the armor of God...
· ...preparing for His return…
THEREFORE, IT IS A CHRISTIAN MIND!
