A network, coordinated by PARRC Research, which is--to coin an
unfortunate phrase--a "watchdog group."
Too often in our world, the Christian perspective is viewed as ultra-
conservative, bland, lacking in daring or vision--and boring.
The expectations of television networks, movie producers, and other
entertainment epicenters is that if Christians are consulted, there would
be no entertainment on the screens of America at all.
That might actually be true, in today's society.
Probably not, though: this is probably a notion fueled by observer bias.
Christians do not ask for a lack of excitement; only that graphic violence
not be served.
We do not ask for blandness: science fiction is far from bland, but typically
does not contribute to the destruction of the moral structure or society.
We do not ask for narrow-mindedness--we do ask for balance: and balance
is not found in the illogical representations of a Christ lacking Godhood in
a movie in which He does not even really know who He is.
The PARRC Media Council serves the necessary function of
advice on matters which impinge on Christian values and society. In the same
manner which scientific advisors are consulted in matters of science, we
envision this council as being asked to advise on matters of Christian import.
It is the logical thing: they should quickly understand that it would be better
to consult with the PARRC Media Council on matters that need
amplification and interpretation as to their veracity (as science advisors do
on science fiction movies--again, after all, the physics should be according to
actual scientific possibility--should it not? If it is not, should there not be a
hue and cry from the viewers with scientific knowledge? Would it not be
better to avoid this by having an advisor as insurance against error? Is this,
then, not a good idea for things Christian--where the hue and cry can be
just as loud?).
The PARRC Media Council would like to volunteer to serve
in that capacity...watch this page and look for this type of activity as
we grow....
We, as Christians, will not be insulted, and our beliefs will not be denied...
For now and in the future, if you would like our opinion about activities
from a Christian perspective, contact us at:
